Breast Imaging Recommendations
The Women’s Imaging Center follows breast imaging recommendations from the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging.
For women at average risk, annual screening mammograms are generally recommended beginning at age 40. Patients with additional risk factors should talk with their provider about whether earlier or additional screening may be appropriate.
Early detection is one of the most important tools in breast health care. Routine screening can help find breast changes at an earlier stage, often before symptoms develop.
